Chair Pose

  • Draw your weight into your heels
  • Bend at your ankles, knees, and hips as you reach your butt back for the edge of an imaginary chair
  • Continue lengthening your bottom ribs away from the top of your hips
  • Hands can come to your hips, heart, or reach overhead, taking care to stay soft through your shoulders and neck
  • Energetically draw your tailbone away from the crown of your head (or your fingertips if they're extended)
  • Breathe deep
